ARQ is involved in the Group 1 dams in joint venture with Goba and while ARQ has had some involvement on all of the dams, it was Bospoort, Molepo and Chuniespoort where ARQ’s innovation was put to best use. Reinforced concrete labyrinths and a new saddle spillway were applied for the optimal solution at Bospoort, while a new spillway, constructed as a rubble masonry concrete arch-buttress structure was identified as most appropriate for Molepo Dam.
