Konkola Copper Mines Plc. (KCM) successfully commissioned a Copper Smelter of 300,000 TPA in 2008 at Nchanga Plant Premises; in Chingola, Zambia.
The KCM wants to construct an additional leaching Copper plant of 50,000 TPA on an adjoining plot at the Nchanga Plant Premises. Aveng Grinaker-LTA was appointed as the contractor and ARQ as their consultants to design all the concrete or structures and civil works.
The scope of work includes the following structures: CCD Thickeners, an Electro Winning building, Dewatering Thickeners, Leaching Reactors, a Filter Press, PLS Ponds, Intermediate Clarifiers, Tank Foundations, as well as roads, bridges and culverts.
